Where is the ceremony?
Getting to the ceremony venue within the estate may take some time, especially for those who may need assistance or are taking the shuttle/game viewer. The ceremony venue is accessible by foot, but please be aware that the terrain is quite steep. To ensure everyone is comfortable upon arrival, we will provide drinks and water stations at the ceremony venue before the ceremony begins. Please feel free to refresh yourself and relax as we prepare to celebrate together.
Is there parking available at the venue?
Yes, parking is available at the restaurant, which is conveniently located at the top of the establishment, close to the reception area. As there is no parking near the ceremony site, we kindly ask that guests park at the restaurant and either walk or take the provided shuttle to the ceremony. Please note, the walk includes descending a flight of stairs and passing through the cocktail hour space to reach the pathway that leads to the ceremony venue. For those who require assistance, the shuttle will accommodate all mobility needs, ensuring everyone can join us comfortably.
Are children invited to the wedding?
Please note that our wedding celebration is limited to adults and children under the age of one. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to celebrating with you.
What is the dress code?
We invite you to dress comfortably in semi-formal attire for our wedding. Please avoid casual wear such as denim jeans. Given our bushveld setting and the natural, earthy tones of our wedding palette, we suggest attire in neutral colors like beige, sand, cream and black, . This will not only add to the aesthetic of our special day but also ensure you are comfortable in the outdoor environment.
Will meals be provided?
Yes, meals and refreshments will be provided throughout our wedding day. During the cocktail hour, enjoy complimentary drinks along with a selection of canapés. For the main meal, guests will be treated to a lavish buffet offering a wide variety of delicious options. The celebration will be topped off with a delightful dessert buffet.
If there's any special requirements feel free to let us know so we can arrange with the kitchen.
Will there be a bar?
Yes, a cash bar will be available at the reception, offering a selection of drinks. We kindly ask that guests do not bring their own alcohol. This helps us comply with the venue’s licensing agreements and ensures a smooth and enjoyable celebration for everyone.
Is the reception or ceremony outdoors?
Yes, the ceremony as well as the reception and boma is outdoors. In the case of rain there will be marquee tents.
What will the terrain be like?
Our wedding will take place entirely outdoors, embracing the natural beauty of the surroundings. The path to the ceremony is a simple soil trail, leading to a grassy area where we will exchange vows. The cocktail hour and boma area also feature grass, with touches of concrete for easy walking. The reception will be held on a concrete deck, ensuring a comfortable and stable setting for dining and dancing.
Will there be any wildlife in the area?
Our wedding venue is nestled in the stunning natural landscape of the Blyde River, home to a variety of beautiful wildlife. You may have the delightful opportunity to spot gentle creatures such as giraffes, zebras, and impalas roaming nearby. Please be assured that there are no dangerous animals such as lions at the venue, so you can enjoy the scenery and our special day with peace of mind.
What kind of weather can we expect?
In October, Hoedspruit enjoys warm spring weather with daytime temperatures typically around 31°C, cooling to about 16°C in the evenings. While it's generally warm, October marks start of the rain season so there's a small chance of rainfall, we recommend bringing a light jacket.
Marquee tents will be set up in the case of suspected rain.
